Community Health Centers: Current State of our Workforce

Policymaker and Partner Briefing

August 11, 2:00 – 3:30 PM via Zoom

Event Description:

Join the Wisconsin Primary Health Care Association, the member association for Wisconsin’s 17 Community Health Centers (CHCs), to learn how CHCs across the state are creatively deploying and building their most precious resource – their workforce. Staffing pressures are not unique to CHCs, and the solutions are as varied as the challenges they face. Explore innovative practices and learn how to support CHCs as they meet the need for medical, dental, and behavioral health care in both rural and urban communities in Wisconsin. Speakers include staff from Community Health Centers across the state. WPHCA will also identify policy and budget opportunities to support the health care workforce and highlight findings from a new workforce issue brief.

A Zoom link will be provided to registrants 24 hours prior to the event.

Objectives:

  • Learn about innovative practices in staffing, recruitment, and retention at Community Health Centers in Wisconsin.
  • Identify top staffing concerns for the Community Health Center workforce.
  • Explore opportunities for policymakers to impact staffing concerns through legislative action and biennial budget initiatives.

Who should attend?

  • State and federal policymakers and staff
  • State agency partners
  • Health sector leaders from medical, behavioral health, and oral health practices
